Why did you take my teacher
My best friend and my guide
The one who’s supposed to walk
Me through the hardships of life
I begged and pleaded
For you to stay
Say anything
Open your eyes
Please I’m not ready for you to die
Tell me what to do to make it right
I held you higher above the rest
Taller than the shoulders of giants
And as you take to the skies
I say my final good byes
And spend my life asking the questions
So lost in this world
With no sense of direction
I turn to you
For guidance and protection
Now your journey’s over
Your ship has sailed
To my only daughter this is just a fairy tale
I walk around wearing this mask
To hide what is real
So no one would know how I feel
Live your life and find what’s best in it
Live your life how you see best fit
And as I sit in my room
I think to myself
How different would life be
If you were still here by my side
Would I continue to live my life
Making the same mistakes
Day after day
Never changing my ways
And now I fight through my struggles
This world leading me astray
Sick of feeling all alone
So sick of doing this on my own
Never
Getting out of this void that consumes
My mind with thoughts of
Regret
So lost in this world
With no sense of direction
I turn to you
For guidance and protection
Now your journey’s over
Your ship has sailed
To my only daughter this is just a fairy tale (x2)
Someone please wake me up from this nightmare
The fact that you’re no longer there
Is just too much to bare
Live your life how you see best fit

Jordan Vauvert
Two death metal legends unite for a once-in-a-lifetime LP; rife with classic appeal and flavor, it's a manifesto that works in any era. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 11, 2017
